Panic Attack!

Exams are coming up, and that means no shut eye and tons of caffeine. Are you ready? I hope I am. I’m almost set or think I am at least. Try not to panic. Having study groups and allotting specific study times in advance seems to help with the study load, while also relieving some stress at the same time too. I wish everyone the best of luck on their exams and hope everyone gets the mark they deserve and worked so hard towards. This semester has been a good experience. I’ve learned lots and look forward to putting forth my practical knowledge in our clinical placements this January!

Germ Fight!

The most memorable moment to date was in my Foundations for Nursing Practicum I class where our professors did a mini experiment to teach us on the importance of hand hygiene. Just like in the video I posted, we applied a “glow” lotion product to our hands before washing them. This lotion would then highlight the germs still present on our hands after we had sufficiently scrubbed them. It was shocking! No matter how much, or how longed we washed our hands; they just couldn’t get clean enough. Bacteria were still there. It was virtually impossible to get rid of. From that moment on, I always make sure that I take extra care when performing hand hygiene.

Self-Healing

Looking back at this semester, I’ve come to realize the importance of time management. Putting all my effort into finishing these assignments on time left little room for me to take care of myself properly. I noticed I wasn’t eating right, and my sleeping habits had changed. Soon I found myself dozing off in class, and more stressed at work as well. Not to mention my mood had altered. Taking the time to just sit back during the day to do something that I enjoyed, or to do something that helped me relax, ultimately made me a lot happier. These simple self- healing practices keep you more focused and refreshed. Balance is everything.
